Privacy Policy

How Inroute Connect collects, uses, and safeguards your information. We exist to protect it.

Last updated: 3 October 2026

Our promise to you

Protecting your information, and your customers' information, is at the heart of how Inroute Connect is built. We collect only what we need to run your logistics operation, we use it only to deliver the Service, and we work continuously to keep it secure.

Encryption in transit & at rest

Data is secured with industry-standard encryption whenever it moves or is stored.

Access only when needed

Strict, role-based access controls limit who can see your information, and only to do their job.

We never sell your data

Your business and customer information is never sold to third parties. Full stop.

POPIA-aligned

Our practices are designed around the South African Protection of Personal Information Act.

1. Information we collect

Account & company information: name, email, phone, company details, and billing information you provide when registering.

Business operational data: the loads, trips, customers, vehicles, drivers, routes, invoices, expenses, and payroll records you enter into the platform.

Usage & technical data: device information, approximate location (for driver and live-tracking features), and interaction logs that help us keep the Service secure and reliable.

Payment data: processed by our payment partner (Stripe) under their own compliance standards; we do not store your full card numbers.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Service and its modules.
  • To process subscription payments and send billing communications.
  • To send service notifications, alerts, and important account updates.
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, security, and technical issues.
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations under South African law.

3. How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the Service — for example with our cloud hosting, payment processing (Stripe), and email delivery providers, all of whom are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users. We do not sell your personal or customer data.

4. Data security

We apply technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, regular security reviews, and secure infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we are committed to continuously strengthening our safeguards and to notifying affected users promptly in the event of a breach.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account closure, we retain records only as long as required for legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, then delete or anonymise them.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including POPIA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@inroute.co.za. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards consistent with POPIA.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Service evolves. We will notify you of material changes through the Service or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
